Hello, my name is Rosie Rapisarda
About Me:
I’m a graduate student in the Broadcast and Digital Journalism program at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, working towards becoming a News Producer. This semester, I’m diving deeper into that goal with two internships—one at NewsChannel 9, where I’m learning directing, and another at CNY Central, where I’m mastering my producing skills.
I decided to do both because they go hand-in-hand. Directors and producers work closely together to make sure a broadcast runs smoothly. By getting experience in both roles, I’m learning how a newsroom really works and how to collaborate and communicate well. It’s giving me the hands-on experience I need to build a strong foundation for my career in news production.
Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, I was surrounded by so many different perspectives. It shaped how I see the world today and my time at Syracuse has only deepened that understanding. I’m passionate about writing stories that matter to people, and I want to make sure those who are often overlooked in the media get the attention they deserve. It’s about bringing more voices to the table and telling stories that are real, relatable and inclusive to the community.
